第一节
Dear Mark,
How is everything going? I'm writing to thank you for helping my English learning during your stay in China.
When I started learning English in senior high, I ran into great trouble. Without your help, I would have lost heart. It was your encouragement that made me realise the importance of English learning.
Later, I got up early every morning to recite English words and texts, listen to tapes and so on. Now, I'm getting more confident in learning English and my English has improved greatly.
Thanks for your kind help again. Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
Paragraph 1:
I looked at the phone and just couldn't believe it. I mean, I was in Houston International Airport that houses many different airlines, serving tens of thousands of customers daily. When you lose something like a cellphone at a place like that, you can feel it impossible to get it back and it will be gone forever. For a few seconds, I didn't know what to say, just sitting there puzzled. I even forgot to say thanks to her.
Paragraph 2:
She said a gentleman picked up my cellphone. He happened to answer my dad's call and got my name and flight number, then took time off of his busy travel schedule and went to the gate. He gave my cellphone to the flight attendant to return to me. That cellphone was my only way of getting in touch with everyone I care about, which at the time I thought was the last time. Fortunately, that stranger did me a huge favor that day, and I am very thankful, even to this day.
